Chester Youth Perspective was founded by myself and some after school students at Chester Eastside Ministries. With the financial support of both Chester Eastside Ministries and Peace in the Streets we were able to produce a series of journalistic films and short documentaries. In this video the members of Chester Youth Perspective discuss just what peer pressure is to them, sharing some of their experiences and advice.

Objective:
Teach youth how to use video and audio equipment as well as citizen journalism. Provide them communication skills and tools to empower them in the business world and job market.

Accomplishments:
Youth were able to learn more about their community by interviewing local community leaders and politicians along with exploring the issues that they are faced with as young people in today's world of hyper communication. Some moved on to photography school and others have gradated high school. I currently mentor a handful of these same students in their senior year.

 
 

Peace in the Streets and Peace on Earth (PSPE) was founded by Wanda Moore and Sarah Poole. I was contracted to document their summer Peace Camp as well as give traditional art workshops throughout the week. We had a lot of fun. I filmed and edited this video for the Peace Camp in collaboration with Sarah's writing & poetry workshop along with Wanda's Self Image workshop. With my help the youth were able to film and create their own reality show (although not seen in this particular clip.). The photography was done by James Ley
 
 

Chester Youth Collaborative (CYC) was founded by Janet Ford and Ieasa Nichols. I was contracted to document their summer annual youth summit for the second year. I can't even express well enough how much I have enjoyed working with the youth and leaders of this program. I have been able to produce at least two documentaries for them as well as design a website for their yearly summit. See website: http://www.chesteryouthsummit.com/
